Evanescence And The Open Door

Evanescence's Amy Lee Really Likes To Hear Her Neighbor's Argue
Hey. Hazim here...again. Drama is usually music's middle name when it comes to legal issues and lawsuits and songwriting royalties and all that shit. Anyways, after main producer and co-songwriter Ben Moody (love the last name) quit and left the band abruptly while they were on tour, lead singer goth chick Amy Lee was only too happy to continue. So Fallen sold a lot of copies in this new millenium where selling one original copy is a big deal, and I was one of the millions who went out and bought it after hearing "Bring Me To Life". Well, Ben Moody's replacement, Terry Balsamo, was reushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke caused by a torn neck artery( this is the part where I grimace). Well, for the new material, Amy Lee claims she's gotten to be more creative and in control, saying "With Ben, it was always 'No, that's not commercial enough". On the new album, Evanescence even cover Mozart's "Lacrimosa" and some opera thrown in. She also says the new record is sexier and 10 times better than the first. Sounds good to me. I know it's a bit cheesy goth wannabe rock, but like a lot of people say=who's gonna resist Linkin Park with a chick? The new CD will be out October 3rd, but I expect the date will be pushed back. It's too early to confirm it. Here's to hoping Amy Lee can pull off a Tori Amos/Fiona Apple moment like "My Immortal". Hazim. Out.
