Hey. Hazim here...again. MTV Asia Awards have been a ho-hum event for the past few years. I mean, in the beginning, you had some awesome talent performing and actually taking the time to attend the awards in Asia like Missy Elliott, The Pussycat Dolls, and Michelle Branch. A lot of artists somehow feel that going to Bangkok or Singapore might not be safe enough. In some aspects, yeah, it's true. I'm sorry but I'm not a big fan of Canto pop and all that so past few years have been filled with boring perfomances. To them, it's all about flash, not flesh. This year looks to be hopefully different with Kelly Clarkson hosting the event and Korn performing! Yeah! I'm still gonna hold off from buying tickets or anything until I see bigger names. Hey. Hazim here..again. Once in a while, I like to feature new artists that deserve attention (don't worry, no Paris Hilton endorsements here). Alright, so there's this new artist named Corinne Bailey Rae who's setting the UK on fire supposedly. Well, her single "Put Your Records On" is doing really well on the charts. If i were to describe her style of music, I'd say imagine Norah Jones on caffeine. Really subtle, but a bit quirky Nelly Furtado-style. BBC predicted she'd be the top breakthrough act of 2006 and they were right on after her debut album became only the fourth female British act to have their first album debut at number one. Her debut album Young And Foolish, I do not have, but rest assured, I'm gonna check it out. Her voice is real nice though. Hazim. Out.

Rapper Young Jeezy Arrested

Young Jeezy Really Needs To Go To The Bathroom

Hey. Hazim here...again. One of my fave rappers, Young Jeezy aka The Snowman has been arrested for carrying a concealed firearm without a permit. Apparently, he was arrested in South Beach, Florida after an alleged shootout happened involving members of his entourage. Police reports say that Jeezy and nine other dudes fled the scene the scene of the shooting in two SUVs. When police searched the SUV, they found two weapons. Young Jeezy whose most recent hit is a duet with Christina Milian called "Say I" was confirmed to be present during the 5:30 a.m brawl. I hope Jeezy doesn't go to jail. I like his rapping and that scratchy voice that makes Will Smith sound like the sissiest boy alive. Hazim. Out.

Hey. Hazim here...again. Now I'm a big fan of Garbage and I think Shirley (the lead singer) really rocks. Like Debby Harry, but with red hair. Anyways, despite rumors that the band might be breaking up, they are only taking a break right now. But on May 28, Garbage will release a greatest hits album called Absolute Garbage, a B-sides album, and a live DVD. My heart just beat a little faster after typing that. I know there will prolly be some extra tracks on the greatest hits album, but here's a list of their singles.

Hey. Hazim here...again. A couple of years ago, everyone was going ape over "The Reason" which became Hoobastank's biggest single ever. It helped push the album into the top three on Billboard. Well, I've heard their new single "If I Were You" and it's kinda bland. It's like they're trynna go for that rock ballad a la "The Reason" but fall short. Hey. Hazim here...again. Guess what? Nelly Furtado's new single is out! I actually haven't heard it yet, but it's called "Prmiscous Girl". If I manage to get hold of it (I'm hunting it down like crazy), I'll put a link here. The track features uber cool producer Timbaland. Her third album is called Loose and it features Timbaland, Pharell, Chris Martin (of Coldplay), and Lester Mendez (he produced La Tortura by Shakira). Sounds like HOT SHIT. Hazim. Out.

Hey. Hazim here...again. Shar Jackson is a total fame whore. She loves the limelight, so when people turn their heads away, she goes and does something to stir up the pot. Well, besides hanging out with Brit's ex-husband (Jason Alexander or something like that), Shar has also decided to cover Britney's awesome gem of a pop song "Toxic". Now, in my opinion, songs like "Toxic" should be left alone. That song got to number one in a lot of countries. Shar's version is just horrible! The background remixed version is kinda cool, but Shar's singing (if you want to call it that) doesn't even come close to hitting the mark. Click here to go to the myspace where they've got the song.
